‘Existence. Well, what does it matter? I exist on the best terms I can. The past is now part of my future. The present is well out of hand.’

i lived alone in the fifth floor of an apartment building, with a balcony. one day a man appeared in my apartment from behind me and told me a ghost who lived there told him there was a man watching me from the balcony windows. staring in from the parking lot. i told a group of women downstairs about it.
another day the ghost the man described to me appeared. he told me the man was back and staring at me from his car again, with a rifle. i ran downstairs and told the women and a group of people went on a search outside. one man wanted to know what the car looked like, but the ghost hadn’t described the car’s color. they didn’t believe me.
i went back upstairs to my apartment and the women were waiting for me. they said something to the effect that they had been the ones watching. i ran down the stairs and on the way i found a knife they had placed for me, for defense. it was to be a game. i got to the bottom on the stairs, but one of the women was already there. she laughed, and i laughed and said i understood and then i changed into a gold bikini with glittery heels. we walked into a pool area and put our feet in.
